Denoting software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified.

We have realized that academic programmes are not enough to build compelling IT graduates. A lot of students /graduates either have to learn technologies they think might be necessary at the workplace or learn on the job.

It is empirical to know that the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Etsy, Airbnb and alot of new tech companies and startups were built and are powered by open source technologies. Even proprietory tech companies like Microsoft, Oracle are also advocating the use of open source.

Based on the need of the Market and the Start-up ecosystem, it is imperative to expose students to Open Source Technologies. This might be difficult with current university curriculum, hence the need for institutions to set up Open-Source outfits on their campus... Click to read More .
